Happy 3rd Birthday and Happy Easter

Easter at Rochell's

Easter Morning

Lilly wanted to leave fruit snacks too.

This year, Lilly's birthday fell on Easter. So, we started off the morning with an Easter egg hunt. The Easter bunny left a trail of eggs for her starting at the top of the steps! She was also excited to see if the Easter bunny ate what she left for him the night before. Yup, she was satisfied... everything was gone except a tiny piece of carrot. She loved opening the eggs and her basket. She also got to open her gifts from us since it was her "real" birthday! It was a special morning for us! We had breakfast and then later that day made our way to my parents for dinner. She opened her gifts from my parents; we thought it would be less for her to open at her party- and she would be able to enjoy them with less distractions. Then, we went to my Tit's (aunts) house for an Easter Egg hunt and dessert. We sang happy birthday to Lilly! She was a bit confused though... she was wondering where her princess party was? Poor thing, all day we explained to her that it was in a few days. What a hard thing for a 3 year old to understand.

It was a wonderful day~ I always get a bit emotional on Lilly's birthdays. It brings me back to the day she was born and how lucky I am to have such a beautiful little girl. She is the joy of our lives. We just can't believe she is 3!! Hope you had a happy Easter~

Love,

Kelli

Make-Up

I stepped out of the shower to....this!~

Immidately, she says "here momma you want some" (holding my lipstick in her hands). She was so quiet, I didn't even know she was in my bathroom with me! She was so proud of how well she did, and quite honestly,I didn't think it was bad for a almost 3 year old and no mirror!! Is she a girlie girl or what??

Over my Spring Break, we went to the Hands On Muesum in Ann Arbor. It was just a really cool place. I thought it was perfect for the kids. They could do pretty much everything and touch everything!~ We would definately go back. Plus, who doesn't like an educational activity!

Dundee Water Park

The other day, we ventured out of Wixom to Dundee! We spent the morning at the indoor water park. What a great place for kids... and adults too! We had a great time there. We spent majority of our time in the children's pool, but we were okay with that. The water was warm, the slides were perfect for lilly and it wasn't too deep! We also loved floating on the lazy river! At first, Lilly wasn't so sure about this because it's full of kids splashing, tubs everywhere and mountains raining water on us- but she warmed up and loved this too. Towards the end of our morning, Lilly seemed to be more comfortable with water spraying her in the face- which we were happy to see. We are hoping to go again soon, maybe with more people so that Ryan and I can go on the big water slides together!! We had to go alone- it was fun, but not as much fun when you can have a buddy! Anyone want to go??
It took sometime, but she built up the courage to go down the waterslide.

A Fun Filled Day

Beauty and the Beast~

Central High School was performing the play Beauty and the Beast. I took Lilly and met some of my friends there. She was beyond excited to see Bell the "princess". Lilly sat next to her friend Avery. The kids all loved the show and did a great job too. It was 3 hours long. We weren't able to stay, but made it through the first part which was an hour and a half! We had to get to a very important birthday party!

Keeping Busy

Coloring with her wonder color book
Lita got me a new dress! I love it!!

I love to do puzzles!

Mommy asked me to draw her a picture-

This seems to be our life lately~
I'm home today... again. Lilly has a terrible cough. Off to the doctor we go. Our family can't seem to shake the icky germs. On the days that we are feeling well, Lilly loves to beep boop around the house in her princess shoes and tutu's. She's been talking a lot lately about her birthday party. She's so excited to have a princess party. She also loves to talk about things that have happened in the past. She'll say "momma remember yesterday..." and it happened last summer or weeks ago! She also loves to role play- she'll take her babies and pretend they are throwing up into a bowl just like she did! I think her favorite thing to occupy her time is writing and coloring. She spends lot of time drawing on her easel, and writing her name! She's always so proud of her work!!
I think I can say that Spring is here, although we are suppose to get bad weather tomorrow or Wednesday. Hopefully that is the last of it- we are so ready for our grass to be green and the sun to shine everyday!

Mommy and Lilly on my Birthday

I love my cousins!

Dancing around on my birthday

Okay, back in business. I brought home my school computer- Here are a few pictures of Lilly and her best cousins Preston and Malaina. They came over a few weekends ago to celebrate my birthday with me. They came over on Sunday, my actual birthday was Tuesday- I got a call at work Lilly was throwing up. Came home and my sweet girl was sick. The next day, she was still sick. I got it Thrusday, Ryan got it Friday. So, needless to say, we were all sick my birthday week. O'well- it was still great!

Darn Computers

Okay, so once again it's been almost a month since I've posted. Our laptop at home no longer works. So, we are on the hunt for a new computer. I have to lug my computer from home once in a while. We do have a 1980's computer upstairs and an Ipad, but either are like a laptop. So be patient with me. Pictures are coming this weekend! I have to download them from my camera. And speaking of pictures, I was doing so well with copying them to a seperate drive... well not all my pictures are saved. Ryan said we can get them off... I hope he's right!

Mid-Winter Break

Lilly loves to write and draw on her easel.
Flying with Daddy.

Skyping with Preston (that's a great conversation to listen too, they are too cute when they talk to eachother)

Lilly loves just about anything, she loves to fill boxes, baskets and bags with money, bracelets and whatever else will fit!

Lilly and Whitaker

Here 's a cute story before I write about our days around here. Tonight, I met my sister for dinner. Lilly was in bed (or I thought). I walked by the steps and looked up because I heard her saying "dada", she saw me standing at the bottom and got a huge smile on her face. When I went upstairs to put her back into bed, she started rubbing my face and hands (as if she hasn't seen me in days) and says "Momma I'm so glad to see you. Momma did you miss me?" She melts my heart... but really girlfriend I was only gone for dinner!! As you can see, she's a momma's girl. Our little girl is a crack up! She says really funny things, and is definately listening to everything we say. Today before we left the house she said, "momma are the roads okay, the weather is better?"
This week is mid-winter break for me. It's a break that I look forward to! We (teachers) need it and so do the kids, especailly to disinfect. So many sick kids. So, we began our week at the doctors. Lilly's had a cold for about 10 days now. Then on Monday, she woke up with 2 crusty eyes. Sure enough, eye, nose and ear infection. Our doctor perscribed her medicine, which we were so happy about, however she can't have any dairy and hour before she takes it and after. Now, if you know Lilly, we go through about 2 gallons of milk a week and I'd say she drinks 80% of it. This is definately a tricky task for me!
So, we were hoping that the snow was gone for the winter...boy were we wrong. We've hung out around the house playing dress up, sorting odds and ends, playing on the ipad, and just doing whatever the days brings us.
I love that I get to be home this week with Lilly. Of course, it will go by fast, and I'll be sad. On the positive side, that means we are getting closer to Spring.
Oh, by the way, I'm already planning Lilly's 3rd birthday. Yes, I know, my baby is going to be 3. She just figured out how to make the number 2 on her fingers! And, in a few days, I am going to be 33! How time flies!
By the way, the green dress you see Lilly wearing is one of her favorites. She likes to "dress up"in it. Just incase you were wondering!

January

Since it's been pretty cold outside, we've been staying inside playing! The other night, Ryan decided to build a fort for Lilly. Well, it ended up being a fort for Momma, Lilly and Whitaker. Daddy was the paparazzi. Lilly had a ball. She brought in a bunch of books and her princess flashlight. It was just like when I was a kid. We'd build forts all the time. It was dark under the blankets, so the flashlight was perfect for Lilly to use when reading her books to me! It's so cute to listen to her read, she will babble a bit and every so often throw in pieces of the story, unless it's book she really knows.
Another past time activity in our house is painting. Lilly could spend her whole afternoon painting. I don't mind it, because the paint they make these days is so easy to clean. They even have color wonder paint, where it only shows up on certain kind of paper. It's great! All moms need this.
Lilly Lately: Lilly loves to write, especially the letter L and i.She also loves to draw faces. She adds the hair, ears, nose, eyes and mouth. She enjoys singing all the songs that she knows and we enjoy it too! She loves to color at her new easel, she loves to put stickers everywhere, and play on the ipad. She's better at it than we are. But her favorite is... yup you guessed it dress up in princess dresses! She can't wait to twirl and dance. Oh, and I forgot, we are all potty trained! Lilly goes on the potty all day long and daddy and I love it!
Hope the month of February isn't too cold. Maybe Spring will come early this year... we can only hope, right!
